Hey everyone. It has been a while since I have done anything to the car. I bought a house in August and my priorities changed big time. Now that some of the house projects have been wrapped up I can finally get back to the car! I really like the new Members Restoration Project section and I would like for a moderator to move this thread over there.
First thing I did was remove the drivers side door to work on the hinges. I was tired of having the door drop 2” when I opened it.
Here is a pic of the old and new pin for the lower hinge. Can anyone say worn out?!?! I had to weld and redrill the holes in the hinge because they were egg shaped.
Once I got the door back on and aligned it I cut out most of the rear quarter.
Since I removed the back glass I can now work on replacing the rocker panel, outer wheel housing, rear quarter, trunk gutter, and the deck filler panel. I couldn’t resist hanging the new quarter up just for fun.
Next I wanted to get the rear floor pan situated before I take out the rocker panel. Since I went freestyle and made my own rocker patch panel at the forward spring mount, I had to make another little extension so the factory panel will fit (Ya I know it‘s not pretty, but it'll work... I hope!!!).
