Now it's time for paint! "SHOP"
« on: October 11, 2005 - 05:05:50 PM »
I will say it took a little longer then I thought to do the mud/tape
but at least it's finished!

I will try to paint it in a couple days and finish putting up the lights and ceiling fans.
In the spring I will epoxy the floor and trim out the walls and doors.........then start moving all my stuff into its new home!

Here are some pics for those who have followed the project along.

take care,
Dave

That is the one part of building the garage I hated.  Looks like you did a fine job....it does take forever!

Please do!

You know the photo in your signature, is that garage at the same house (so 2 garages?) or is that from an old house?
Sorry if I missed a post somewhere about shifting or have forgotten....takes extra time to fly across the ocean down here. lol

NZ.... I have a 3 stall attached to the house plus a 28x26 work shop also attached. ...........and the new garage is 26x34 just for the challengers
I do not like having the cars around bicycles/basket balls ect. .......accidents will happen when you have little ones around!

That looks great, OBH.  We still need to insulate the walls and drywall our detatched garage. (hopefully get it done this summer)  That will be an awesome place to keep your cars out of harm's way.

Great job, that is going to be a "mopar Cathedral", a place to give thanks for the e-gods,lol.

About the finishing part for the mud work before painting, unless the mud is really put on extra heavy you can use a damp sponge to smooth out the seams and screw dimples, just keep rinsing out the mud in a bucket, just be careful as to not get the open board areas too wet. I remoldeled our kitchen in the middle of winter and couldn't open any windows or doors for ventilation so as to get away from the dust and used this method, it works. The dry sanding dust part otherwise is a real mess.
