    Hey gang, i was drivin around town the other day and a guy with a 2001(ish) Mustang Cobra kept instigatin he wanted to run. As far as i could tell at the time, it coulda been a supercharged 04 for all i knew so i wasnt about to play back. He turned ahead of me at the light i was turning at and tagged up waiting for me to turn. So from about a 10mph roll up to 80mph i had my door at his rear window and i backed off at 80. If it was supercharged he woulda walked me, so im figuring it was a earlier one...those run mid 13s from the showroom.

    Im running a 318 (i think the specs are below) with 2.76s and 28" tall tires! Without a doubt, if i had some lower gears i woulda walked right past him.

    Anyone think it was a good run? I have no actual #s as far as 1/4 mile or dyno...

    Sounds good for hanging w/ a car 25 years newer.  Those aren't slouches [ the 01's] . But yeah, the 03-04 Cobra would have waxed you badly.
     There was one at the street legals I went to last Friday.  He was running 11.89 .  Full interior w/ fat rims and DOT drag radials.  { it was modded some }

     Not a kill, but he didn't expect you at his shoulder either....

    Oh definately, a newer one woulda ate me for lunch. I'm just happy my >$1000 build 318 was runnin right...damn close...next to him, nope not a kill. But a good sign of a decent runnin lil small block :D

    Yeah definetly not an 03-04 cobra, but all the cobras are pretty fast. The N/A DOHC Cobras run mid-high 13s dependings on the driver, so you did pretty good. Remember that most of a race is based on driver skills, so your win doesn't necessarily mean that you have a 13 second car.........either way, good job

    Oh i know the race is on the driver, and i didnt win. I came close, but im still tinkering with mine. He won, and he was on it, he chripped 2nd and 3rd so im assuming it was to the floor.  I need a rematch in about two weeks lol

    First time i saw him was then. I should have my new trans in and 3.91s in, in a couple weeks. but im not really the type to say 'wait till i do this and we'll race again' lol. i hate that
