Another Newbe
« on: October 14, 2005 - 10:26:25 PM »
Hello all,
Another newbe to the site. The pictures are awesome. I have a 72 Barracuda 318 auto which I bought in 76 for 900$ I am looking forward to having it restored in the future, when my son finishes university.Unfortunately, it has just been idle in my driveway for 6 years. I just can't let an e body car go. I also bought another 72 for 350$ in 1989 and stripped all the parts and put them in storage. This is the best site I have seen. I look forward to talking to others here and browsing.
cheers

Hello all,
Thanks for all your responses! I will post pics ASAP but am somewhat tech challenged in the digital world. My son will help me there. Perhaps pics of parts which could help others out, as well as the car.
My HIGHEST regards to the ones who can put a website like this together!
I wonder why everyone from garbageman, Utility Worker(during a magor ice storm last winter) Police dept, mailmen etc as well as every passer by has stopped, knocked at the door and asked the question.(do I want to sell?).The answer to MY first question, we all here know, and the second is NO WAY!
I just coulnd't part with my first car I ever bought at 17.
Its gonna cost me as I can do very little of the work myself, and my son is 2 year Science major at U (like the old man)
thanks, but I,m going back to browsing the site while I can get the computer time.
cheers to all
Mikey

Hello all,
Here are some pics of my car.  I also have a lot of additional parts in storage.  I have extra doors, hoods, rally rims, interior parts, bumpers, head and tail light assemblies, windshields, and some NOS chrome wheel moldings and rocker panel covers in original packaging bought from chryslers before the dealers sold everything out in the 80's (zzz).
Cheers,
Mike

oh well,
the pics aren't the greatest but I will keep trying. Took a long to to upload. Most of the parts are in storage. I had new quarter panels, deck lid and trunk floor installed in the late 80's. From the doors back, I don't think a rust problem. Fender and hood have surface rust, but I have spares. The price of parts I have seen on the net are extremely high! I'm not sure what is best option, buy a new motor, or rebuild existing one. The car has sat for years(Iknow you will hate me for this one). Anyway,
take care
Mike

Welcome to the site, Mikey1!!!  I think we can find it in us to forgive you for letting it sit for a long time.  I mean, at least you kept it out of the woods and judging by the pics the elements haven't really done anything too bad to it. Stick around and be sure to let us know when you start the restoration process. ;)

Hey Mikey!  Welcome to the best mopar site on the net!  A great group of friendly and knowledgeable folks who love their mopars!  Your car doesn't look too bad at all for sitting outside for 6 years!  When are you going to start the restoration?  It's amazing how much stuff you can do yourself and also save yourself a ton of money.

Ask as many questions as you need to...and of course...post as many pics as you like!
