$1100 doesn't seem so bad but I don't think media remove rust.  Soda blasting is even more pricey.

That was a good link on roof change reference.

I hope you didn't (sand) blast the body panels you weren't planning on changing already.  Take a good feel of them if you did...

If you are going to make the underside look really good, clean up any "extra" welds too where panels are put in.

Media will get the rust, it just is not as quick.  It is preferred over sand for body panels as is is less likely to warp the panels and damage any rubber parts maybe left on the car.  Soda is even more gentle.  Sand is very good at getting heavy rust on larger gauge metal.  Here are a couple pictures, one before and one after media blasting.

I thought $1100 was a pretty good price too.  When trying to decide whether or to media blasting or acid dipping, it looked like the prices were similar.  Acid dipping a little higher.  In my case it really came down to the fact that I would have to go over 500 miles to get it acid dipped.  Transportation costs would have been really bad.

When I had my car media blasted, it cost about $1100 to do the entire car inside and out.  That also was the hood, deck lid, doors,  and front valence.

Did they do any disassemble or did you have it done?
I have a guy who will cost more but he blast the under side and hand sands the body.

I disassembled the car myself and just brought all the parts in with the shell of the car.

I still need to blast my 71' challenger but money is short right now, there is a place nearby my home where you can pay i think its 25 dollars an hour to use their booth/media/equipment etc.  a really good price.  Maybe now that its cooling off it wont be so blasted hot in the room.  Your project looks to be REALLY solid! have fun with it^^

The only media blasters I know of in your area is ABC, CBS or NBC, they are very good at blasting Bushes, maybe they do cars too!
