Production numbers for <colors> on Mopar...interesting!!
« on: October 18, 2005 - 07:43:25 PM »
Awhile back I mentioned that I had found info as to what (percentage) of each color was produced in relationship to all cars manufactured in that body style........for example  there were 3741 8 cyl JH model units produced  and 16% were plum crazy ....7.5% were gomango.     5.5% were sub lime......see pic attached.  Sorry if I could not get all this into one shot......anyone wanting the other side of this chart in another pic send me an email.......I was unsuccessful at cropping in whole chart ( I think) on one page......
another example.......in model JH27 there were 2543  8 cyl units produced.   Of these 3.9% were white,  4% were go mango, 12.6 % were medium red.......  the chart shows percentage of 6 cyl, percentage of 8 cyl and total percentages.......shows percentage of vinyl top cars and what colors were made also.    Someone please resize this for all of us.......I couldnt get my image resize tool to work somehow......

I am going to take this chart to work tomorrow and see if I can reduce and see if it will print in black and white.       NZ   In the model JS 27 the percentage of cars that were B5 blue were 7.3% of 955 made it says.   If the model is a JS 29 where 3741 cars were built,  the percentage of cars that were B5 blue were  7.5%.  ON the model JH 27  whre there were 2543 produced the percentage of B5 blue cars were 9.9%.

As far as the JS27 convertibles 44.9% had black vinly tops, and 55% had white vinyl tops.

I am trying to go back and trace what Mopar site I actually got these numbers off of.......If anyone can remember seeing this somewhere also let us all know.    I kept this around for 6 months and lost the chart for awhile before i relocated it while cleaning up.     I will work to get something a little easier to read.   However if you use the first chart that is the largest and do some tracing you can get your particular model number and trace down the color on the left and see the <percentage> of cars produced that color.  Remeber now its the percentage not the actual number of cars.     You have to look to see the total number of cars built and divide the percentage into that to get an idea of how many cars where made the color of yours.

Seeing as it lists R/T convertible it can only be for 1970.
