Challenger vs. cuda
« on: October 21, 2005 - 07:50:44 PM »
Its funny how things turn and twist in your hands.

When I was 16 I bought 1970 barracuda, and later on I bought a chrashed 1970 383 Cuda, took everything out of her and cloned. Sold it around 1982. When I had this Cuda I allways wanted a Challenger R/T.  And now I have an original 440 R/T Challenger with shaker hood and I want cuda. Do we have a medication for this?

Yip, I've seen medication for this.....71HEMI has had these tablets there called: Bothalitis
You'll need a double garage to make this work. :-)

Not a cheap medication to recieve good health, an extra garage and 250.000,- I figure the health insurance will cover this. :)

Do you think this is also vice versa, probably not, due to the extreme demand for the legend Hemicuda.

Here's another medication, but the side effects can generally be headache and feelings of despair.  It's called "Wife-acin".

After having this it will permanently not allow you to have more than 1 car in the driveway to tinker with.  It worked well when I was looking at a '76 Trans Am for an even trade for some tires and rims.  Still feeling the side effects though.  : (

Hi, I know what you are going through.  I was in the same boat and I found the only cure was to get another cuda.

70RT...I know your pain! I have to admit I am VERY seriouosly condisering moving my 71 hemicuda clone car....I just cant be happy with a car for any long period of time. I've had this car two years now, and I'm just ready to move on. At least you are thinking of keeping one and adding one. I'm thinking of making a complete rollover my cars...selling the 71 and the 72 runner, and buying two. It's an illness that has no cure. Just give in to it, and go out and get a cuda to keep the challenger company.

I think we need to start a support group!  Apparently we suffer from a rare disease called "collector-itis".  Sufferers begin to act like "car collectors" when they only have a 2-bay garage.  Never in a million years would it occur to them to sell one car to make room for another.  Sacrilege!

As for me, I used to HATE Challengers, and now I MUST have one.  I didn't like the '70 side stripes, hated the slope-down trunklid, etc.  All I wanted to know about was '70 'Cuda and '70 Charger.  Now I've got them both and I spend WAY too much time looking for a Challenger.  What is wrong with me?  I've even put off tearing the 'Cuda down because I want to keep the car funds available for a Challenger I might run across...

I think I go legitimately crazy from Mopar madness.  But it's nice to know I'm not the only one.

Today is the first day I have visited this web address.  I have been reading your posts on numerous topics and find you are all very pleasantly enthusiastic about automobiles.  Each writer finds themselves at various stages of growth and interest in this hobby.  I have been collecting muscle cars for a long time and must tell all of you that this is one hobby that will never let you down.

Regarding Challenger vs Cuda.  My vote goes with those who desire both.  Budget permitting, of course.
For me, it all started with a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 air car.  I first found I loved power under the hood when the car broke the tires loose when shifting gears up the freeway ramp in Las Vegas.  Since then I have continued to seek and purchase the rarest and most powerful cars I find myself attracted.  I have even driven one of my perfectly restored hemicudas down the 1/4 mile drag strip (once).
