new charger
« on: October 24, 2005 - 03:09:58 PM »
Hello all,
I have been really enjoying the site.
I was at the shopping mall and was playing around a bit with a 2006 Charger RT Daytona, colour was goMango, full options package was $48k Canadian.(couldn't drive it though) I was just wondering if the cuda/challenger will ever be introduced by Chrysler, and what you guys think of the new Charger.
take care
Mikey

Reintroduced - Yes, the Challenger has been given the green light. Will be out 2009/10.

Here is a picture, although it will probably not look like this, this is just an artists rendering of it.
It will however be a 2-Dr, RWD HEMI option coupe.

I like it too....although there would be many who would adjust it slightly to to their likings I can safely say if the the Challenger came out looking likethat it would get a lot more thumbs up than the Charger did.

That would be very nice if that's what DC would ultimately choose for the new Challenger's construction..........I guess only time will tell.

06 Charger supporter here.  And, I'm hoping for an evil looking 2 door hardtop/ragtop for the new Challenger. :)

Hi mikey1,

The new Challenger is due to be out 2009, maybe late 2008, according to sources.  It will be based on the new LX platform, not the current one that the current 300/Charger is based on.  Only time will tell if it's retro themed or not.  Lots of rumors but no drawings yet.  It'll get more interesting as the long thought dead Camaro may possibly be given the green light also for 2008.

The new Charger is great for what it is.  A nice RWD, V8, 4 door family sedan.  I'll have to agree with Andrew that I like the car but not the name.  I've seen some in dealer lots, but so far none on the road.  (Boston, MA).  The car definately would be a more viable option to people if DC offered a true manual transmission for it.  For $30K, it'll be hard to find another new car that fits that catagory with the same attributes: RWD, 4door, V8, performance oriented.

We were coming home from a car show a couple of weeks ago and this guy in a new charger pulled up beside us.  He rolled down his window and was just grinning and said..."I have a charger too...mine's just newer".  I didn't have the heart to tell him ours was a CHALLENGER!!!  They guy was definately happy with his car, so they must be getting positive feedback.

I've been told I have a nice Camaro more then once, One guy asked me if I have a HEMI in my Camaro

That is one confused individual

I can't see the new 'CUDA/Challenger happening unless it's some kind of hybrid or something.
There is just too long of a wait. Do you realize that by the time the new E-body comes out Hillary will be president?

LOL!  I'm surprised he didn't yell out at you, "Hey, that thing got a Hemi in it?!!"

I was kind of waiting for him to ask that, but he never did...so I asked him.  Nope no hemi...he didn't know what was in there, but he knew it wasn't a hemi.

I pray to God that never happens.  Because, if it does, I'll have to move in with Chryco.
