Drive shaft length?
« on: October 26, 2005 - 07:33:50 AM »
I have a 70 Challenger that had a 318/904 with an 8 1/4 rear.  I put in a 340/904 ( no difference) and a 8 3/4 rear.  My old shaft was 4' 5 3/8" long - the yoke and is about an inch too long?  Is the pumpkin longer on the 8 3/4 or should this drive shaft work?  The shaft on the yoke is all the way in and it sure came out much easier.

yes the ront of the 8 3/4 diff is longer so the driveshaft needs to be shortened

I cut my drive shaft. No problem.
