The grill, tail panel, side marker lights. Seatbelts, front seats... I'm sure many more little things too.

Ahhh,
That makes a little more sense to me(I'm sluggish). The doors, and rear quarters below the marker light would be the same. Any engine would fit in that 70 except a Hemi would need a differnt K-frame. The hood (I believe). The trunk lid. Rear seat. Drive shaft and pretty much most suspension stuff should be OK. Can you be specific about what parts you are looking to get from this 73 donor?

First off, if it's cheap enough get the '73 no matter what.
As far as 'CUDAs go everything is interchangable because it all fits. if you want to put a '70 front end on '73 or vise versa that's no problem. Same with welding on a different tail panel, or bolting on doors and trunklids ect.
The real question is are you just trying to get the parts to make it road worthy or do you want it all correct and pristine.

I have a feeling your question is "Can I buy a '73 and make it look like a '70 ?"

The answer is yes but it is going to be very expensive...

There are a few parts that really won't work or at least work well from the two years.  I believe the steering shaft on the 70 was different from the rest . .  and bumper brackets will be difficult as they varied from year to year.  70 had a special front valance to hold that grill too!
