According to a local E-Body Guru...
« on: October 28, 2005 - 06:27:05 PM »
he claims that in 71 there were no "Deputy" Challengers built. Now, I never seen his cars but, he claims to own an 70 B5 Challenger R/T and a 70 Challenger T/A. Anyways, just curious if its true no 71 "Deputy" Challengers were built?

In addition, Galen lists 1971 A93 Coupe production in his white books as 760 sold with the slant six engines and 1293 sold with V8 engines.

A93 cars are hard to find information on for some reason, but I am working on it. :-)

T/Ake care,

In 1970 it was called a Deputy, in 1971 the Coupe.  Same option code.

It appears that they were originally planned as "JL" prefix VIN numbers, but the ones I have seen so far ar all "JH".

Barry (Alaskan T/A) & FY1 IMO are our best correctness gurus.
If I asked a question about a part being correct and they said no, I'd change it without thinking twice.

DEFINITELY a mega bonus having guys like that with us. :-)

Wow thank you Alaskan TA. Yes, tell me about finding information on these cars. Now, I know what the Deputy did look like but, mine are done like an 71 R/T car. Anyways, thanks for all the information and production numbers.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I am not any kind of guru, avid student is more like it. There is a lot to learn about all of our cars yet.

An article on the A93 cars is in the works by one of our new members on this site, he is quite knowledable about them. Once the article is ready one of us will post a link here, promise. Stay tuned......

Man, thanks again. I can't wait for the article on the A93 cars since so little is known about them. My A93 car was a 318 car. Heck, I even still got the 4 wheel standard drum brakes on it. It was also a 3 spd manual on the floor. The hole is still there so it wouldn't be hard to convert over to an A833 tranny if I had money and the parts which will be a long time if I decide to go there. Anyways, thanks again for everything and clearing this up. Some people are confused about the "A93" model cars.
