I know of two in Panther Pink so far. There is no way to know how many cars with certain codes were particular colors though. :-(

WELL- When we cleaned off all the layers of paint on the beast , it had a few repaints over the years.

Tawny, red, lime green when we bought it and now the Hemi Orange--- much better color!!! lol

Here is a link to the only advertisement that I have seen for these cars so far, odd how they show an R/T convertible with Sheriff Roscoe Higgins but the text mentions the Deputy.

Why was the deputey cheaper if it had the same options?

Because it didn't have the same options. It was more of a bare bones car. The biggest engine you could get in 71 is a 383 Big Block. You couldn't get leather or some of the interior goodies. You could only get certain options and the mere fact that the windows were fixed in place cut down on production costs per unit (less parts) makes sense for it to be a cheaper Challenger.

There is an article in this months mopar action or mopar muscle.
This guy owns 23 hemi chargers.
His favorite charger's color??????????
Tawny Gold
Said it was very classy.
Now who am I to argue with a man who owns 23 of the 80 hemi 71 chargers that were built.
