Why would anyone build that nice of a car and then paint the engine compartment black?
Ruined the looks of the entire car. Must have been a ford guy or a chevy guy that put that one together.
When I judge mopar car shows, if the engine compartment is painted black I eliminate that car completely.

To answer your question, this is a highly modified Challenger with a lot of one off parts....(in this particular case, the rear suspension.)  An original Challenger does have drums in the rear that are on the outside of the axle shafts, not on the inside as this one shows.

I should probably also say the conversion in the rear is to coil-overs as opposed to springs, so that's probably another reason there wasn't enough room for the calipers and rotors to fit in their original locations.

The car is dark blue, and the engine bay is dark blue as well. The car was built by Matt DeLaney from Shreveport, LA. He is a good friend of mine, and he is an ALL MOPAR guy.  He builds top of the line cars. The car has an independent rear suspension. Very nice car. I saw him and the car at SEMA.
