383-438 stroker motor - SOLD
« on: November 03, 2005 - 03:08:10 PM »
This is a balanced and blueprinted, dyno-tested combination that will produce at least 525+hp, 575+ ft-lbs of torque, run all day long on pump gas and is built to take a 125+hp shot of nitrous. Final displacement is 437.7 cid. Engine is new on the stand - never fired. I kept all of the UPC codes and install documentation for the new parts, which is pretty much everything other than the block, crank and intake manifold.

It’s got better parts, machine work and assembly detail than every other comparable 440/451 crate motor currently for sale for much less money. Period. It's pre-oiled and ready to install. Parts and machine work include:

- 1966 383 Chrysler engine block, bored .060 over, decked to true 90° angle, honed w/deck plates, line bored mains, lifter bores finish-honed, Clevite cam bearings installed and burnished, new oil pump drive shaft bushing, all head and main bolt holes cleaned with tap, new block plugs, all oil passages hand-cleaned
- 1969 440 steel crank, lightened, knife-edged, indexed, counterweights turned down to fit block, rear flange trued, fully radiused, std 383 mains, std big block Chevy rods (much lighter than stock), fully computer balanced assembly
- Venolia custom flattop pistons, full floating, ring lands set down additional .150" for nitrous, .990 pins, valve pockets allow .650"+ lift, very streetable 10.0:1 compression ratio, .0045" clearance
- Speed Pro SLP-R9904060 exact-fit 4.31" bore plasma moly rings - top ring .020" gap, 2nd ring .022" gap
- Eagle 6.800" H-Beam rods - 1.81:1 rod/stroke ratio
- Michigan 77 M77MS876P full groove std main brgs - .0025" clearance
- Clevite CLE-CB743P std rod brgs - .002" clearance
