We have a 1974 challenger, re-painted in orange, with a swapped in 360 engine
However, me being the creature of luxury that i am, i had a few questions as to furrther restoration of thisd car
Here was my idea, these may sound crazy, but please tell me if I am COMPLETELY nuts.
#1 get different door panels for the interior, i hate the existing ones.
#2 modernize the interior, as in keep the same look, but try and get the parts re-made for the car, and new gauges, so that it looks identical to the original in terms of looks, but it is all current tech inside.
#3 Modernize the suspension I may or may not do this, it depends on how i feel after I've driven the car. but i was thinking of replacing some of the suspension parts with more recent ones (shocks, leaves etc...) to make it handle a bit better
#4 replace the power steering unit- i don't know, there is just too much play in the existing one for my tastes.
#5 trunk fuel cell -10 gallons is not enough for this thirsty beast, so i thought I'd double up on my fuel capacity
#6 Install a new HVAC system -the existing one's blower is toast, and the controls are a bit dysfunctional
#7 fix the low hanging roof cloth -part of the interior roof covering hangs down and droops a bit, this probably only requires A couple screws to fix, but still.
#8 replace the brakes with newer, 4-wheel disks
#9, POSSIBLY swap in a 440 or a Hemi engine, not sure yet if i will, or which one, that requires more research, although for now, the 360 treats me well
Let me just say that i am on my backup keyboard, so there are alot of typos, i realise, i hate this keyboard
and if you view some of these things as sacrilege, I'm sorry, but winters coming, and my speedometer has an accuracy of +/-- 20mph
