Sorry for the long delay guys. Delayed getting the car until Wed. night 'cuz of the rain, then left to go camping for veterans day weekend. The whole time i was camping I kept thinking about this new car in my garage!! Finally go to drive it today. Runs good until I get on it. It needs some sorting out. It has sat idle alot,
hardly driven by the previous owner. Any six pack trouble shooters out there?

CC,

What does the car do when you hit the fun pedal?  I know you can't diagnose it while driving, but what are the symptoms?  Popping, misfiring, bogging, any idea yet? Let us know and we'll give it a shot........Oldschool

the car runs/drives/shifts fine. no misses.
When you start to really give her the gas she justs starts to die (bog?) until you let up on the gas and she smooths out. Same thing trying to accelerate up a steep hill.
I'm thinking electrical first. The ammeter is pegged to the "C". Loose connection maybe or bad alternator.
It's almost like it temporarily runs outta gas. Thanks

Running too rich? Carb adjusments perhaps? Had that with mine and got it sorted out......I know exactly what you mean.
Post it in the Tech section to reseve a million replies. lol

thanks NZ...i took your advice and placed a new post. hopefully in the right place.
Haven't seen any signs of richness (black smoke, sooted pipes). Hopefully it's something easy.

No worries mate someone will definitely be able to help, doesn't sound like anything major.
Chryco our Tech guru will know for sure as will many other members.

My porblem when I had that happen was something like air bubble trouble, too much air getting through and basically choking it.
I know when I put my foot down and waited for the kick down then found it basically stalled I was like, WTF!?!?! lol

All sorted now though!!

Nice ride.

For your 6 pack problems.

I had a few of these myself and the worse thing for those carbs is for them to set.  The gaskets shrink and leak air.  Also could be the power valve.  Hope this helps.  Only thing you can do is overhaul carbs.

well i hope it's something else, but Holley 2 barrels couldn't be that tough to rebuild assuming the kits are available?
thanks for the input
