Hey R/T,

Thanks for those great pics.  I would love to go check it out but the family duties prevail.  Looks like a great time!  Yes, there are a lot of Camaros still in existence.  That's what makes Mopars cool!  You can tell your brother the benefits of putting a car cover on the Camaro if it's huting your eyes.

I'm not aware of any shops around here.  Here's a couple of ideas though. 

1) Try to calling King Upolstrey in Watertown (617-924-8600).  The owner I think still owns his supercharged 'Cuda (Was in the World of Wheels)  Ask him for ideas.

2) Try to talk to the moderator of this forum, Mass Mopars.  His name is Tadjou.  He lives in Hardwick, MA which is a lot closer to you than I am.  Try to send him an email.  He's pretty knowledgeable.

3) The Larz Anderson Museum of Transportation in Brookline, MA (617.522.6547), yearly hosts Mopar day, Muscle car day, etc.  They may know some restoration shops, but they may be very pricey considering the cars they have there.  $$$$

Definately get references.  You don't want some hack butchering up your car!  On that forum they were dicussing how hard it is to get reputable people to do work on thier cars in MA and have to go out of state.  There are some restoration shops around MA but I'm not sure of thier work. 

Since you're in Worchester, you might want to check this out, from Craig's List.  Good project if you can do body work.  I listed it on this site for the guy.

BTW, had to put a cover or else I'll have a Challenger swimmingpool in the spring.  Gotta find that cowl leak sometime.....

S B 72, I cannot thank you enough for all the info. You really went out of your way to help. I will definitely look into all the leads, and advice you've given me. Believe me, it is greatly appreciated. I'll also pass on to my brother the benefits of that car cover for his chevy. That cracked my @&& up. Thanks for that also.
   You guy's are all top notch. Everyone's willingness to help a fellow mopar out is all the motivation you could ask for.
 As for the 73 Charger for sale in my area. I"m going to try and force myself to stay away. I would absolutely love to scoop this one up, but I have to show restrain. I've actually let a few get away within the last year, or two, because I know if I have more than one to deal with I will stray away from my main issue ( my R/T). I'm easily distracted. Thanks for passing it on to me though..........hell maybe I'll just go (check it out") anyways......just for curiosity sake, of course.
  Regret sucks for sure. Here's a few pics of a 68 I came across that I could have gotten for $600, but I passed on it at the very last second, because of my distraction issue. Hopefully it went to a good home, and was not parted out.

    Just a little update, got a little sunshine today, so I was able to get some work done to the rear tail light section, (not much I know, but it certainly seemed like it while I was at it).(I HATE bodywork) One step closer, so I got nothing to b!%@h about. Threw in a few extra pics from the past couple of years of SLOWWWWWW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>progress. Hope you all enjoy.
 
   P.S. I tell ya, finding this forum, hearing the stories, and seeing the true class of people in it has kept me totally motivaded. So thank you to all who contribute to this wonderful site.

Actually S B 72 the first pic is from around 1995. I took off the road around 98. It really did need help after many years of neglect.
    I had driven my 72 Challenger(first love)(R.I.P.)(I'm sorry) for many years in primer, and I was not going that route again. I am going to do this one right. Does need a lot of help right now, but I know how very lucky I am though. I'll send along a few pics of issues I need to address. Luckily I had an "extra" 70 fender laying around that I bought nearly mint years ago for $50 that I had put on my 72. $50 bucks, rust free, and one very small ding. Ridiculous by todays standards. Deal of the century for me. Very lucky on that one.
   Did you do any of the body work on your blue 72 by any chance? How long have you had your 72 for?
 By the way I looked into that 73 Charger around my way, got some additional pics from the seller, yea she is hurting a bit, so I decided to pass, (not really a hardcore B body guy myself)(I love em, just not my thing)
    I also may have found a connection to possibly handle my bodywork when the time comes. They are called Randy's Automotive in Fitchburg, not too far away(ever hear of them?).  They specialize in mopars/muscle cars, so I am looking into that right now. I'll let ya know how this pans out

Yeah, won't be finding a nice bumper for $50 anytime soon, which is sad.  Wish we could turn back the clock and if we knew how scarce and expensive cars/parts would be.

No body work was done by me.  Passenger side could use a little attension, little rust bubbles on lower part of doors/rockers, that will be addressed later.  I've had my car since Nov. 2003. The metal, as I was told by the original owner, is all the original metal.  It's a Rallye but doesn't have the side scoops because of the body side trim.  Not sure if lower quarter work was done on it though.   It's going to be a driver.  Don't have the time/$$$ to do a full restoration.  Would be cool to have a show car but can't right now.  Just doing stuff to make it look decent, then I can get the appraisal to get the insurance.  Might as well make it look presentable for the appraisal.  Doing the interior now, when time permits.  Have a '71 Go Wing I'll pop on after refinishing.

Yeah, that '73 Charger needed some work but if you can do body work (not my cup of tea!) then it's a good project.

Glad you were able to find a body shop!  I'm not familiar with them, but again, get references for thier work, check Better Business Bureau, etc, etc...  Hope all works out for you!

Welcome,cool site here.I am fairly local to you up here in southern NH and know of a few shops for resto work.There is Thunder Road in Dunstable MA and I hear they do very nice work,978.649.9022.Lacz autobody in Manchester NH,don`t know anything about them but they advertise in a local classic car paper for quality restorations,603.624.1205.If you don`t mind a little ride I can recommend a friend and former co-worker who now does auto restoration at his home shop in Allenstown,NH.He is an nice honest Mopar guy who does good work and will treat you right,Dennis Swanson 603.485.3838.Some of you might have seen his custom two door `69 Satellite wagon at a local show or Carlisle a few years ago.I`d look at giving you an estimate myself but I have have way to many projects already and I can`t even work on them right now till my back heals up.

Just to let you know that the guy just reposted on craigslist.com and said would take all reasonable offers for the '73 Charger. Wants to get rid of it before winter.  If your interested, tell the guy to call you with any offers he gets.  If he doesn't get any offers, then he might just tell you to take it for cheap $$$.  See what happens.

Nice progress pics, Super Blue 72.  When I first looked at the photos and read the introduction you posted when you joined, I thought you were someone near my hometown as there is a '70 R/T Challenger I've known about for a long time now that's just sitting in a relative's yard.  Though it's great to see you're reviving this one, it's a pity the guy by me still will not let his go and so it sits slowly sinking into the ground with each Spring that passes.

 SB 72, I know I could probably snag the 73 for short change right now, but the timing is just not there on my side unfortunately
(too many projects in pieces right now as it is, also have a  86 Honda VF1000R that needs to be put back together after some fairing fiberglass work I have done/attempted). Not that I'm a "bike guy" to say the least, but I aquired it from someone who owed me etc...bla...bla...bla....you know the story.
 SB 72, Loved the pic of the model in front of your fullsize 72, cool  @&& pic. Heres a few pics of my abandond models. After they all ended up on the ground, in pieces during a "hard" night of "partying", I kind of lost interest. Plus I do not have that type of patience anymore, unfortunately.
   Also Super Blue 72 If you could possibly get going ,and make a little more progress on the 70 R/T, R/T hedkace would be extemely greatfull to you

 Just wanted to share some "oldschool" pics of my fathers first car, (67 Dodge Coronet R/T 440 4 speed dana). Thought some of you might appreciate them, even though its not an E body. My mom looks stright out of the old mopar ads. Hilarious. Thats great. The pics are from Aug. of "68", and April of "72". Hell I wasn't even thought of yet, but talk about me being born into it. It was definitely out of my hands. I was no doubt mopar from day #1. Gotta love that.......thanks dad

forgot one
