1970 Gran Coupe For Sale
« on: November 07, 2005 - 10:56:09 PM »
I am accepting offers for my Gran Coupe.  Photos are at http://www.millermap.com/barracuda/.  In addition to the extra parts mentioned below, I have a few misc. items that you might see missing in the photos such as a fender reflector and a piece of chrome molding for the front grill.

It is pretty much stock although I think the previous owner put in the velour ceiling and shag carpet.  I have the original radio, wheels, extra trunk lid, and some pieces of trim that you might see missing as well as a rear valence panel that I actual bought from a Chrysler dealership years ago.

I don't think it has ever had a serious wreck but it has had a few bumps and bruises.  The previous owner said he put a dent in one of the doors.  I put a very small dent in one of the rear quarter panels and made the mistake of trying to fix it myself.  You will also note a wierd dent in the front fender.  It was parked at a friends house and a fir tree fell down in a windstorm and just missed the car but a branch made that odd downward dent.

The trunk was rusted out when I got it in the early 80's and a friend and I stupidly cut it out and welded in a piece of sheet metal.  It is a real hack job and I'm always worried the gas tank will fall off.  There is some minor surface rust in a few places but I think the only other serious problem is around the rear window.  I don't know about the floor panels.

- It hasn't been a daily driver for about 7 years.  I start it up every six months or so and drive it around the block.  It has about 170,000 miles on it.

I would love to own another Gran Coupe.  I had a white with black top and black interior.  I want to build another one like it some day.  I had this car about the time I was in high school or College.  That was one of my favorite cars and the only reason I got rid of it at the time was the gas tank leaked.

I want my car back!!  Now that I'm out of school and have a job I kick my self every day for selling it.

It changed hands two times after I sold it and is now in New York.  Anyone know anything about it?

I'm not sure where in NY.  The guy I sold it to is trying to find out for me.

Here is a link to the pics.  http://www.hesselgrave.org/barracuda/  I think it might have been dipped since I sold it though.

I don't regret spending the money on school - just selling the car.  I should have just borrowed more money.
