Were can I find a Challenger shaker hood?
« on: November 08, 2005 - 03:09:50 PM »
Look like I found a 71 Challenger convertible in great condition, an original 318 car now has a 340 with the rally hood. I am a shaker hood nut, I know where I can find the shaker and all the parts, but can some one tell me who makes the hood? Or would it be better to mod a plain flat Challenger hood.

I don't know where he got them through, but wait for 4Cruzin to chime in here.  He bought a complete setup for his '70 Convertible within this past year.

I bought my shaker hood about 8 years ago at the Mopar Nats.  I don't think anyone is making metal shaker hoods so either you find an original or one made out of a flat hood.  Sorry I wasn't more help!

   DHE (Dan Hegybeli Enterprises) makes a fiberglass repo hood with cowl vents that are open and is said to look 100% authentic . I don't have his web adress but his # is 310-833-3490 hood sells for about $800.00

I bought my entire setup from these guys for my cuda. The hood is a converted flat hood made by Gene Gregory in Alhambra, Illinois. The hoods run around $1800 plus shipping.  I would buy their complete setup. It was $4200 and it looks perfect. It's the best way to go.
Be careful when you buy shaker parts.There's some real junk out there.

Scott Smith offers a more accurate, lower priced kit now to convert a flat hood to a shaker hood. Here is a link;
