Installing MSD box...where did you put yours?
« on: November 08, 2005 - 04:14:33 PM »
Hi there, looking to install my MSD 6A on Friday and am looking for ideas on mounting it. So far i like this idea myself. Just right on the heater box, i kinda want it to be seen, not going for the 'sneeky' look.

Where did you mount yours? (pics too if ya can.)

Thanks!

The ones I've seen on E-Bodies have been pretty much on the passenger's side firewall in the engine bay. I like your picture though if you can make it work(thumbs up).

That Satellite owner definitely has it hidden from the engine bay.  I think that'd be great if you could get everything to work mounted that much farther back than on the inner fender or firewall.

According to MSD if its upside-down, it will collect moisture (cant get out like if it was rightside-up) and cause it to fail...but if its workin for ya guess thats fine haha.

Im liking the on the heater box idea. Keeps it out of the weather, nice and cool....

Thanks

I used to have those on my big-block, so they kinda looked like that in reverse(the distributor is in the front). They were neat, but once I went to ceramic coated headers I ditched them because they hid most of the tops of them. Sorry, I don't know who made them.
