Shaker base plate repair question
« on: November 09, 2005 - 05:10:29 PM »
I have an original 70 shaker base plate, but several of the "weld-nuts" (if that is what they are) on the bottom are missing, so I can't attach it through all the holes in the bubble without putting wing-nuts underneath in several places (too tacky for a shaker car).

Surely I am not the only person who has found this problem on old original base plates. Are there pieces available aftermarket to reattach? How have you dealt with this problem. Just mig-weld some nuts on? My piece is worth about $ 800, so I want to be careful with it.
