Lemur,
Do you want the 6 pack for effect and a certain look, or for the performance?  If it is for the effect and look then go for it. If it is for the performance, there are single 4bbl /intake combos that can surpass the old 6 pack induction system.  If a few tenths on the strip don't matter to you, you can't beat the 6 pack for pure eye candy.  Whatever you choose, you won't go wrong.  Keep us updated!...........Oldschool

typically you are looking at 2200- 2400 for everything

It's called a six-pack, because you have 6 barrels. 3 times 2 barrel carbs. In other words, all three carbs, are 2 barrels.

  Mike

Edit: I very briefly considered this switch since I have a T/A wanna be, but that price is too steep for me. I also feared the tuning of the carbs. would be a nightmare.

I have seen the six pack set up in many places.  The reproduction set ups are more efficient as they are on aluminum manifolds.   I have a sixpack setup on my 73 challenger and I love it!  you will also need a good fuel pump and regulator.  the air filter will run you about $80.00 for a K&N (it is reusable) and the cover is around $75.00.

Just remember though, when they are tuned it's one of the nicest sounds you'll ever hear!  (Gary's old T/A sounded amazing after it was tuned.)

You might also get a little better mileage with the 6 pak. The linkage is progressive, like the 2 X 4 bbl set-up on the Hemis. At part throttle you are only running on 2 barrells. As you get harder on the throttle, the next carbs open up. And you can't beat that sound!....Oldschool

The pictured manifold wouldn't fit an LA engine very well.
