looking for a rebuildable 340,383, or 440 in Daytona Beach area
« on: November 10, 2005 - 10:11:02 AM »
i am curious if anybody in the daytona Beach area or maybe within a 100 miles or so might have a rebuildable 340, 383 or 440. im not looking for anything finished as a matter of fact in peices would be preferable because it's going to be rebuilt anyway. I have a running 360 but I'm having problems with finding a 4 speed flywheel for it so I guess i just want to go to something a little more common, the cars in the restoration stages anyway so I haven't made the decision to stay with the 360. I'm not looking for a 3000.00 engine, just a few hundred bucks, maybe something out of a Newport or a monaco, something big. But i would like to keep the date code under 1975 if possible.   Thanks Dave

Hey, thanks for replying so fast. I tryed to call but no one was home. i'm definetely interested in the 440 in jacksonville. I would like to talk to you, but I have to leave for work at 5:00pm. I will be home around 9:30 tonight. I will try to call you in a little while.  Dave

P.S if you know anybody interested in a running 360 with an automatic that goes with it, maybe I can make a few bucks off that too. The 360 is a running 75 360 with headers and four barrel, and an aluminum intake and it ran great when I pulled it from the car. No smoke, no knocks, good engine.
