Another GA newbie
« on: November 11, 2005 - 03:41:00 PM »
I am currently in the market for a 70 Challenger.  Wouldd consider a 71 but really want a 70.  And f I had my druthers it's be a convertable, but will consider a 2 dr. hardtop.  I had the 70 Challenger in college.  It was the car that first got my wife of 26 yrs attention.  It was an R/T 383 Magnum Auto.  Black with a white top, only problem with it was it was a Michigan car and had more rust than I could deal with at the time.  2 years after we were married I sold it.

if any of you know where I can get a project car for under 10K much less if it is not a convertable?  I live near Atlanta.  Any help is appreciated.  While I look I will be reading the board for insught as to what it will take to refurbish my future project.

Thanks,

randy boschee

If 10K is your budget, I would steer clear of the convertibles. You would get some real sorry cases for that price range. A decent hardtop project would be do-able in that range. Also, if you are looking for a big block car, that will add to the price. Good luck.

Hey Randy, welcome to the board!  I'm located in Marietta and there are a few others on the board from the area.

I don't know of any Challengers for sale in the area right now, but will keep an eye out for ya.

Welcome aboard, your old car sounds quite rare. Black with white top! What was the interior color?
If it tears you up too much to talk about it, I TOTALLY understand! :-)

I understand how it hurts to remember past rides.  I have let too many go in my time.  They are now harder to find than when I went through so many.   It would be nice for some to show up again for a good price.  I hope that I have found some and hope to get to look for more soon.

Welcome to the site and don't give up.  I have told my son the same thing.  It will happen when you least expect it.  It has happen many times that way to me.
