Took the barracuda down the track
« on: November 11, 2005 - 11:01:09 PM »
Little 318 did OK.

Things against me lol
First time racing at a real track
open 2.76 rear - with a motor that likes to rev
28" tall tires
weak springs w/air shocks
thats about it

Anyway i got the best of 15.065...now its bugging me i was .066 away from a 14! Well its ok for a 318, about 3700lb barracuda with the gearing...

Car looks at home at the track eh? lol, next time i go ill have my 3.91s in. I ran my $50 MSD 6A box and it worked flawlessly...which was a damn good deal.

15.065 is a good time. I'd like to see what you get with something like a 3.55 SR...

Man that's really good Goody, really good! With those gears and a 318 it is definitely nothing to laugh at.
Well done! I look forward to seeing your time slips with the 3:55's in!!

There's nothing wrong with that time, nice work. The 3:91's should make that 318 really move.

Hey, you're still faster with that lil' 318 than a guy I know who put a Vortech supercharger on his Mustang 5.0.  For an open rear end with 2.76's, that isn't too bad for a 318.  The plan for a turbo will definitely increase that even more!!! =)

One question...did you stay in 2nd gear all the way down or did you at least get to use 3rd--LOL?? I had some 2.94's in my Coronet and could go thru at about 5500 in 2nd.

That was a good et...just wait til ya drop the 3.91's in. It'll pick up a good bit. Sounds like you had a good time!
