    New(6.4) Crate Hemi install

    Ok guys and gals. I have a new project that any input in would be appreciated.
    The plan is to install the new crate as soon as it is available in a 71 B/cuda. modern brakes, wheels tires, a/c, rack and pinion steering and possibly(probably required) new tubular cross member.

    Some of the places I know I need to check with are magnumforce,alterkation,firmfeel,keisler,vintage a/c. AAR for F/G hood
    Any more ideas?

    Fuel injection or Carb? 

    Wiring and headers will be challenging.

    Will be fuel injected. Actually I am looking forward to the wiring as I work on the new cars every day.

    If it were me, I would contact alterKtion because for one, you wont have to bother with firmfeel because you can get a rack and pinion on the alterKtion kit and two, the alterKtion kit is a street-oriented kit vs. magnumforce's kit is more race-oriented. Keisler has already made a 5-speed conversion for 5.7 Hemis so it shouldn't be a big deal for them to make one for the 6.1/6.4 Hemis. For the front side of the engine, I would definatly try March pulleys. As for brakes, you have two real choices when it comes to BIG brakes, Baer and AR engineering. Baer is far more expensive but you can have some amazing brakes. AR engineering makes a kit to swap in Viper brakes, which should be plenty. Lastly, since you're doing this wild build, you might want to contact these guys for a 600+hp supercharged version.... :-)

    call me if you want we can discuss ti , I would Not use the Magnum force piece it is a race piece & will not live on Ab roads

    I like the ideas above....might want to go to the new keisler 6 speed. Use a 8 3/4 with 4.10's...with the OD you'd have the pull out of the hole, and good crusin capability.

    Gotta have A/C, cruise and a killer sound system too. Power windows, etc...I'd try and keep the interior stock looking...but still have all the modern accessories. Be really trick to have power seats with the original look.

    Sounds like a fun project!

    That is exactly the idea, but we just hit a snag. Motor won't be available till may.............so the plan will continue but with a 528 crate that we have had on order for over 2yrs now. Boss just talked to some of the higher ups in Mopar perf at the new vehicle show in Vegas and learned this news and that the blocks for the 528's should be ready in December finally!

    I'm looking at doing exatcly what you are talking about with the fuel injected version of the crate motor..  Any thoughts on adapting a base plate for a shaker hood?

    Has anybody successfully installed the late model hemi into a E body yet?

    I remember somebody here was attempting it but ran into alot of problems?

    I have placed my order for All Aluminum Hemi Block, alum heads dual quad setup.  Will be finished early Feb hope for install end of Feb - should be 540.  Pics 2 come on the engine build then install etc.  Converting auto on column 340 6pak to 4 speed.

    new to site,pretty cool cars.just putting finishing touches on my 70 cuda conv. with a 5.7 hemi ,727. baer brakes and big wheels  www.57hemicuda.com   it was a fairly straightforward conversion.stayed with mopar k frame because magnumforce and most of the others required a front motor plate,or elephant ears,which would be next to impossible on the front of that new hemi.used thenew flaming river close ratio steering box and magnum force control arms.used charlies oil pan and nem comp cam and springs.the intake is a chrysler 300 with a camaro throttle body adapted.i really don't like the chrysler electronics,so i ran it off of a gm ls1 camaro computer and sensors,took a while to get the bugs out but works really well
