2ndly, DCX better let the Barracuda nameplate rest.
The challenger nameplate too.
And the charger.
And the daytona.
And the Roadrunner.

Why do they try and recreate these cars?
Do we need a new charger?      No.
Do we need a new challenger?     No.

The reason DCX brings back these names is to make a quick buck.

Personally I think they need to leave these cars alone, From what I have seen with the new charger, I think the challenger will look like sh*t.

And when that happens, everyone will complain "Why does it have 4 doors" Why does it have a crosshair grille?" "why is it fugly?"

I planned to put more here, but cant figure out how to word it.

You mean a car that sells to the general masses (new Charger), or, just one that sells to us niche market performance enthusiasts?

The argument that a 2dr won`t sell is crap with the new Mustang out.I see 4 times the amount of `stangs on the road as I see Magnums and Chargers combined.

This is one of those generic form letters from DC.  I got the same.  They know stuff, I think, but just don't want it out yet.

They don't want the public to form an opinion yet until they can handle the backlash.  Just my opinion.

The pics of the '99 Charger concept are sweet, IMO.  Wish the 2006 could've been like that, 4 doors and all!

hey superblue get back to mass mopar LOL. From what i've heard the new challenger will NOT be a 4 door model and will be built on the same platform as the magnum/charger/300. If the challenger comes out looking anything like one of those cars i'm gonna be pissed.

I thought you might be lurking around here!  I saw the c-c.c map and said,"North Attleboro?  Hmmmmm....looks familiar!"

It should be on the "new and improved" LX platform for 2008/2009.  We'll see.......

The argument that a 2dr won`t sell is crap with the new Mustang out.I see 4 times the amount of `stangs on the road as I see Magnums and Chargers combined.

What about OTHER new 2 door cars?  I don't know about you, but other than those XXXXXXX plastic 4 banger cars, like the Cavalier or the Civic, I see VERY few new 2 door cars.

The Mustang sells, BECAUSE it's the Mustang.  The fanbase of the Mustang ALONE is bigger than the ENTIRE Mopar fanbase.  THAT'S how big it is.  THAT'S why it sells, NOT because it's a sporty 2 door.  Same with alot of the Corvette's sales.  Fanbase.  People buy them, just because of the name on the glovebox.

As for letting the Dodge nameplates rest, Why?  They are Dodges, which is still around, unlike Plymouth.  And, it is a DEFINATE fact that the new Challenger will be a TWO DOOR PONY CAR, so don't bring up that "4 door" bullcrap.  There is NOTHING wrong with a company trying to get money based on a name.  Look at the Roadrunner.  Plymouth used a Warner Bros. cartoon charactor, to help sell their new performance B body.  Duster is the same way.  There is no difference whatsoever, and, yet, I don't hear anyone XXXXXX about THAT name...

I have a serious question.  Why are 4 doors so bad?  Does it hurt performance?  Does it make the car weaker, or more likely to fall apart?

The answer is, NO.  4 doors doesn't hurt the car AT ALL.  Maybe some added weight, but, not much.  The performance of the new Charger MORE than makes up for the 2 extra doors, and those 2 extra doors will help it sell more cars.

Frankly, I'm sick and tired of all the XXXXXXX about the new Charger.  We FINALLY get a V-8 RWD car from Dodge, (after, what, 20 years or so?)  and everyone STILL complains about it!  "Oh, I don't like how it looks."  "Oh, the 4 doors blah blah blah"  GIVE ME A BREAK!  Would you rather go back to the OH so great FWD 4 cylinder K CAR?  Jesus, people!  Instead of complaining about the little things, you all should be GLAD that DCX has taken a step in the right direction.  But, I guess nobody else sees it like that.  Shame....

Rant off.

The concept needed a slightly onger trunklid, and the front end was fugly as hell.  Fix those, and then you've got a nice car.
