Imagine you have just turned 23, you drive a 1999 nissan skyline gtr but you have decided to sell it and start a family.
Your knowledge of classic mopars goes anout as far as seeing a couple in movies and reading and reading a little about them in newspapers and a little on tv, which basically say (as I quoted above) the charger was slow, heavy and couldnt compete with the mustng (Yes, I know it was never ment to compete with the mustang, Im not stupid) but you have also heard about the magnum from ads on tv etc.
Im not sure if this makes sence, or seems a little unfinished, but Im not going to reply to this thread as arguing is getting us nowhere.I want you to nothing I have said about here is personal.)
First of all, the Skyline is not sold in the US, which, as far as I know, is the ONLY market the Charger will be sold for. And, even if it was, I don't know of many 23 year olds who could afford one.
2ndly, I don't remember ANY movie that showed the Charger to be slow and heavy. In Bullitt, the Charger is shown several times pulling away from the Mustang. In TFTF, the Charger only loses the race due to an engine problem, and running into the truck. In the Dukes of Hazzard, the Charger is portrayed as a badass, unbeatable Muscle car. I could go on and on. Again, I repeat, the Charger was NEVER portrayed as a slow, heavy, uncompetitive car.
3rd, I've seen more adds for the new Charger than I have for the Magnum. Plus, even people who don't know much about Chargers know them from movies and TV shows, like DOH, and TFTF. Your points do not have a leg to stand on, andrew.
