Finding a Thermoquad

Am wanting to find a thermo quad to rebuild to replace my leaky gas guzzling Holley. There are plenty of junkers out there and the 4000 and 6000 series are in high demand for guys restoring their period-correct cars.  Can I use one of the more plentiful later model type carbs on my car? Am concerned with throttle linkage, vacuum source for PB, etc.

How do you identify the right desired carbs?,I got a few sitting around,thanks

thats the same question I have - there's a guzillion models out there and I would like to find one that would plug-and-play on my 340 without having to alter anything. The 6139 is the model that came on my car originally but I guess any 6100 series would work?

I am only sold on the Tquads because they are supposedly great for gas mileage. If I can't find a suitable Tquad, will probably buy a new Edelbrock AFB or something similar.

If you don't mind a mix of car makes, I used a Quadra Jet off an olds 350 on a 318 on my old Chrysler 5th Ave.  It's a spreadbore too like the TQ, just that you'll have a TJ.  I liked it much better than the Holley 600cfm.  Summit Racing sells them.
