I've just noticed that the Challenger (Orange one) has an incorrect grille.
It's annoying when they use non-correct cars in books like that because some including myself try to use these for info and correctness. I have also seen one book showing a "#1" condition AAR 'Cuda with the worst hood lines I have ever seen.
The hood was popping up about 1-1/2" I swear! Couldn't believe it.....

I think it would be really nice to get another Cuda or Challenger.  Or Both that is if they are 1970's.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

A few years ago we bought a book on Cuda's and Challenger's too.  My husband found all kinds of things wrong in the book.  He wrote the author and pointed out all of the mistakes and the author wrote back and thanked him and said they would correct the book and send us a copy of the new corrected book.  We never did get a new copy.  It was pretty bad finding all of the mistakes. Like someone said a lot of people use these books for reference and could get points deducted from Mopar shows because they restored the car wrong.

Just curious, what's incorrect about the grille?  And was that hood black out available only for '71 or could you get it in '70 also?

Definately agree with you on that one!
But it's hard in this day and age to find prime examples of factory original cars, and also there were variations from the factory/dealer itself.  Left over parts, use what you have sort of thing, dealer installed items.  My '72 Rallye has a dash from a '71 and its from the factory that way as it was made 8/71, an early '72.  But if they used my car for reference for a book, it would look incorrect even though it's from the factory.  I got the book by, I think, Paul Herd and there were some inconsistences.  It was a very interesting read.

It's tough to compile that much information and have all of it to be correct, although as a reference book one would want it to be perfect.

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Oh NZ don't get bent out of shape, not every Challenger is %100 perfect. This book as all kinds, recreation, and correct cars. A stunning cover to cover eye feast of beautuful E-bodys is what it is.

Enjoy mate.

Bent out of shape??????? Read hob.

I'm not being picky, MEK pointed it out to me....

Check the grille lads, missing the entire anodized last two rib pieces. It's just ALL black. If anything it was well spotted. lol

Cheers, I'll still buy it anyway.

Just seems like you were being overly pickey, sorry mate. It isn't worth it to me to care one way or another about somebodys paint -n- stuff. The picture is an art shot with no explanation of what kind of car it is, real or not.

And I'm not a Challenger guy either LOL.
