Face are laws are a little different here but, I'm just getting it just in case.

That being the case, let me suggest a gun safety course. Most local police departments have them. You learn how to handle the gun properly, you'll learn the local laws that govern it's use, and best of all, you have an opportunity to blow through a box of ammo at the police practice range.

It's a pretty cool class, and usually takes about 2 hours a night for about 3 nights. Then you go to the range. I recommend it to anyone who owns a gun, even those who are "EXPERIENCED" gun owners. Most gun owners think they know everything they need to know about the subject, most are amazed at what they didn't know about guns and the local laws.

Like the old saying says: You don't know what you don't know.

Sounds like a fair deal! Your mother didn't object? :^)

Mom and dad divorced in 1983. She wouldn't have cared anyways. She isn't into guns all that much.
I built a really nice case for the gun and now it hangs on the wall in my living room. I still have to get the old man to cough up the bayonett for it. He has it, just doesn't want to give it up!
Anyone know how to decypher military stampings on rifles? ? ?
I was told that the stamp on the side of the breach could identify where, when, and what branch the gun was issued to.

Thanks again for all those who replied. I plan on possibly taking a course and seeing what else I can learn about guns.

Thanks kudakidd for the recommendation. VPOINT, actually there is some rough characters around here. I'll be upfront and say that I have encountered more drama here than anywhere else in my entire life because of the culture and differences here. This drama has taken not only an affect on me but, my life as well. This drama was unecessary and uncalled for IMO. There was lies that got flung and what a small minority of these people say have me watching my back and my property. I hope that sounds right. Let's just say I have few people that would like to hurt me for crazy reason but, then again there's a lot of people up in this area that use drugs and don't realize what they're doing and don't care.
