Progress update...
« on: November 20, 2005 - 07:29:29 AM »
Hi, it's been a while since my last update, in the thread called "The norwegian cuda". Things haven't been so great, discovered that the car has alot of rust and someone have just hidden the whole thing under bondo, some places almost an inch thick. But there have been some progress too :) Here are the pictures.

Here a metal plate had been screwed in and hidden under the bondo. The people who did this are skilled with the stuff, looked great until the bodyshop started to work on the quarters. I'll need replacement metal on both sides.

Look! It's apparent that I have payed to much for this car, I called the guy who had helped me get this car, he totaly agreed, he and the PO are going to contact the guy that did this, and they are giving me some of my money back to help the costs to get this fixed. :) It's a good thing that some people actually can be trusted, and are willing to help.

Rust around the windshield has been welded.

The enginebay was primed..

And then the green..

Nice effect of the Nissan Apple Pearl Green.
Also the bendt frame (right fender) was straightned and the floor was welded together again, that also a fast repair from a PO.
Now I'll be waiting for my quarters to arive around New Year, until then I'll get my engine painted and start installing things in the engine bay.

Save the fish!

Yeah I hate finding hidden rust!!  SUCK!  But it looks like you are nipping it in the butt pretty good!! The engine bay looks great!!  Just need to pull that K-frame and get it powder coated and it will be sweeeeeet!  The one thing I liked about media blasting . . . there was no bondo/filler left anywhere on the car when finished and I then know exactly what I was gealing with!!  I can tell that your car is gonna be very nice . . . can't wait to see it finished!!

Thanks for all the feedback, makes it all a little more fun! Well, here's another update..

Fenders have been painted, I'm so happy!

Trunk lid, with holes for my AAR spoiler..

It's all mine! Trunk lid, the doors, and the fenders where painted on friday.

Towed the car from the bodyshop back to my garage today, King Winter has arrived in Norway.

I put the fenders on the wall to get them out of the way until I mount them on the Barracuda.

Also I have started with the engine, noting serious, it just need a layer of Street Hemi Orange paint.

Thanks for all the replies, to bad most of you never can see my car in real life when it's finished. Maybe I should bring it to the US and come to carlisle :) Anyway here are some more pictures.

I took off the heads and intake, cam seems to be in good contidion.

The pistons.. Looks like it burnes a little oil. Maybe the rings don't seal that good?

Can anyone tell me if this is the original pistons, or if they are aftermarket?

I put the pentastar on the fender.. looks sick.. maybe I should take it off again and put it back on, as the last thing I do to complete the rebuild?
