That is the car DC should build!!!
It is only a concept so I had to be the killjoy and reming you what happened to the Charger between concept and production but I only see TWO doors!!!I`ll start working overtime so I can buy that puppy when it comes out.Mustang??what`s a Mustang?LOL

I must remind you guys, the 99 Charger was a CHRYSLER concept, not a DCX concept.  THIS car is a DCX concept.  I feel that this will recieve only a few minor changes for production.

2 door Charger and Challenger would be pulling a GM.  Making multiple cars that directly compete with each other, in a niche market.  4 door performance sedan and a 2 door performance coupe is a perfect combo.

I WAS planning on buying a new Charger in a couple years, for my first brand new car, but, I think I'll wait for this.

Man, I can't believe I missed out on this thread until now!  Talk about DCX doing things right for a change!  That would be very sweet to see such a car released to the public in that form!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  DID I MENTION THIS IS AN AMAZING STEP FOR DCX IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION?!!!! =) =) =) =)

(Pss: I hope someone drops DC an e-mail with this site in the subject or body so they can see what the Challenger and 'Cuda enthusiasts feel about their potential new Challenger.)

That light looks to be an Arri fresnel which is mainly used for video/motion pictures so MAYBE they are shooting a promo for video use.

What's so neat about it is they didn't just duplicate the original, they put those beautiful lines in it and made it so you can tell it's a cousin to the original but not enough to try and copy it. I love those roof and quarter lines, well I love all the lines and with a 6 speed pistol grip hemi! Oh yeah! Hope they get a ton of enthusiastic mail that will encourage them to see the amount of interest in this. We can only hope!
Better start saving now so I can pay for it by 2009!! By then I would bet it's only gonna cost about five million pennies. That's about 3424 pennies a day. Hmmm, that's still pretty tough, let's figure it for the year 2525, about $6.90 a day, then I could afford it. By then, the 2009's will be collectors and will be $3,000,000. Go figure.

I am not finding much new information so far today, but here is a blurb posted on DodgeTalk's forum.  There was no explaination where it came from, but it looks like it may have come from someone's Blog...

2008 Dodge Challenger

By: Ed Hellwig

Date Posted 11-21-2005

You've heard the rumors and seen the lame photoshop jobs, now comes the first official sketch of the Dodge Challenger concept headed for the 2006 Detroit Auto Show. Members of the Barry Newman fan club won't have to look twice to see how closely it resembles the 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T. From the dual headlights to the kicked-up shoulders in back, the Challenger concept is a heritage design from top to bottom.

Not everything is early '70s vintage. Take a good look at those "stripes" up front. They're actually unpainted sections of a carbon-fiber hood that hides a 6.1-liter Hemi V8 underneath. There's a six-speed manual transmission hooked to that Hemi and it's topped with a piston grip shifter like it should be.

Built on a shortened version of the rear-wheel-drive LX platform used for the Charger sedan and Magnum wagon, the Challenger concept is more than just a one-off design study. Dodge officials told us that if there's enough positive reaction to this coupe on the auto show circuit we could see production versions as early as the 2008 model year. We can't imagine a poor reaction to this modern-day Kowalski cruiser so as far as we're concerned the Challenger is a done deal.

Still looking for more information...
