Did all R/T's and Cudas come with Rallye dash?

    Did all R/T's and Cudas come with Rallye dash?

    Wondering....  was the non-rallye (black plastic) dash correct on any Cudas or R/T Challengers, or was the woodgrain rallye dash mandatory on performance models?  What criteria determined availability of non-rallye dashes?  I know you know......

    As far as I know, the Rally dash was optional on any model. So the non-Rally would fit on any E-Body.

    I thought the rallye dash was standard on all R/T models? I just can't think of any R/T's that I've seen with the standard cluster.

    I am not sure about later years, but for 1970 The Rallye Cluster was standard on Challenger R/Ts and optional on all other Challenger models including the T/As.

    I believe 71 is the same , I have never seen a 71 R/T with a std dash same goes for later Cudas & Ralley Chals , all I have seen is ralley dashes in them , the T/A & AAR definatly did not come with ralley dashes unless it was added , ther are a lot with std dash clusters

    On the later cuda's I think it was still an option, was asked if I wanted it on the order sheet, 99 % sure but it was 31 years ago! The 74 "texas" cuda, is a BS23L & it has a standard dash.

    It was a $90.30 option on 70 Cudas'. My 70 has it, my 71 does not. Considering the entire shaker setup was exactly $7.00 higher, it does seem pretty expensive.

    My 72 340 Cuda does not have a rallye dash. My Cuda was ordered with nothing!!!!!  The only thing she has is power steering and power brakes............other than this thing sticking up out of the floor :burnout:  A NO frills running machine.

    Rallye dash was standard on Challenger R/T's only. On any year Cuda's it was an extra cost option. But any barracuda or Challenger could be equipped with a rallye dash if the option was checked off on the order sheet.

    The below 70 Cuda 440-6 4speed car was not rallye dash equipped

    makes sense , but I though 440+6 Cuda came with Shaker hoods , was that car a delete ?

    Only hemi cars were standard shaker hood equipped...even 440-6's were standard with a rallye hood with the shaker being an extra cost option.

    Here's another good one....440-4 bbl cars with 3.23 gears were standard 22 inch radiators! Only when a optional gear ratio was ordered (3.55 and up) or A/C equipped was a 26 inch radiator required. My 70 Challenger R/T ragtop (440-4 auto with3.23 SG) was a 22 inch radiator car from the factory, and when i talked with the original owner, he told me that car ran hot from day 1 in the summertime.

    Very in-ter-es-ting.... 

    It makes sense that Challenger RT's all came with the more upscale dash, but that it was an extra-cost option on the Cuda, since even though the Cuda was a performance model, it was positioned as more of a down-and-dirty street car than the more luxurious Challenger, the "executive's hot rod".....

    I've never seen a 70 challenger r/t without rallye gauges.
