    I just saw your post and story about your cuda. Your is the first car beside mine that I saw painted Hemi Orange with a Saddle Tan Interior. That is a pretty rare color combo. There is a 70 Hemi Cuda in this months MOPAR COLLECTOR"S GUIDE thats is BLACK with a Saddle TAN gut and I think it looks AWESOME !!! Do you know of any others ???

    I personally really like that combo, it's a nice blend one to the other. Makes you wonder why it is rather rare, it looks great?

    Hey JS,
     When I first bought the Cuda, I thought it was a strange color interior to choose with the EV2 Tor-red. I thought to myself, 'why not black or white?'. When it came time to restore parts of the interior, I found out how unusual the H6T5 interior was. I had to special order a headliner from Legendary, send a color sample to Just Dashes, and custom mix  a plastic paint to re-dye the door panels. Thankfully the exterior required no work at all. The sheet metal is all original and rust free!
    Although, I thought for a second how easy it would be to switch to black, the fact that the tan is original and unusual made the choice a no brainer. (My wife still insists I should have switched to black, but what does she know. lol) The attached interior pic shows the iside exactly as it left the factory, except for the add-on tach. BTW, I noticed that your steering wheel can is painted tan and mine is black. Hmmmm

    Might have something to do with his being a rally dash, and your's is standard? I don't know, but that is the only difference I see.

    When I restored the car I found traces of tan paint on the steering can. That was the first time I saw that myself. So like I said before if it was there then it got put back that way..
    Don't know why they are different.
    I have to be honest with you but when I first bought my car I thought about changing it to black interior to but then I found out how rare it was and I always like to be different and I know when I go to a show chances are very good that I will have the only hemi orange car with a saddle tan interior. I think it makes the car look rich !!! But then I may be a little bias

    Sorry I thought you meant the can at the end of the sterring coulmn. Here is an original pic before resto. I also checked the Black Hemi Cuda in Mopar Collectors Guide and his is also tan..

    Maybe Mike's right. The gauge clusters or instrument panel determined the color of the steering column.

    I also have a yellowish orange paint daub above the master cylinder--and I have marks on both rear wheel wells and both front doors. I also found a production line checklist card under the carpet on the drivers side front..
