Buyer beware - current Ebay auction for 1970 Challenger 340

The Challenger 340 in this auction;

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Restored-Rare-Go-Mango-4-Speed-PistolGrip-s-Matching_W0QQitemZ4591062442QQcategoryZ6198QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Is being advertised as Go Mango with a fake fender tag. I am attaching a photo of the original tag that was included with the auction for the same car last year. If you look at the photo of the Mylar sticker in the current auction, you can see the original FT6 paint around the edges, the tag has other errors as well.

T/Ake care,
Barry

Thanks Barry. Aside from the obvious tag change from FT6 to EK2, i've not seen an A66 car with a V6* stripe of any kind. I always thought that with A66 cars the only stripe option was the V9* BumbleBee stripe. The 70 A66 i once owned was coded V9W and did indeed have a White BumbleBee stripe and my 70 R/T SE has the V6W code on the fender tag but it came with the White R/T stripe. Also shouldn't the radio be a thumbwheel model?

These are the same people who sold the pink '70 on there a few weeks ago.

Yup, the tag has more than just the paint code changed. The original tag shows R11 though, so it would have knobs not the thumb wheels.

Correct on the stripe, bumble bee only for the A66 cars, although it could be deleted. The V6_ stripes had the R/T logo so you will not find it on A66 cars.

Hey Andrew, do you have a link or item number? I would like to check out that auction even if it is over. ;-)

Thanks,
Barry

Andrew, never mind, I found it. The pink Gran Coupe that was not really a Gran Coupe, right?

Carl, my pleasure, if I have the proof I will out anyone, anytime, any day if they are out to mislead someone.

I can not stop all the fraud in this hobby, but hopefully I can make people think before they assume " no one will know, I can't get caught". If I can catch someone dishonest I will. I have no problem letting others know also.

If someone buys this car not knowing the truth about it, I will help them with their lawsuit also.

Hey Barry, would a JH code get you a 340? Wouldn't it be an R/T?

That`s a nice looking car too bad about the tag.Did you inform the seller about the fake tag?A lot of these dealers are clueless as to what is correct and what is faked/wrong with the car they are selling.

Only 1971 model year was the 340 available in an R/T. All 70 Challenger R/T's were big block cars. The T/A's were not considered R/T's, so they dont count. After 71, no Challenger R/T's , they were "Rallye" Challengers.

Is that clock a correct option for the non-rally dash ?? , more specifically if so , is it the right clock face ?

Wonder where the fake tag came from ??

personally I'd rather have the FT6.
