I know nothing about the 70 grand coupe. What features would it have?
Any links to detailed descriptions?           Thanks

I'll take a stab at it from memory....

The Gran Coupe was an upscale model in the Barracuda line, engine choices were 225, 318, 383-2V and 383-4V.

They came with  Gran Coupe badging on the front fenders, tail panel and inside door panels. Interiors were fancy, leather or cloth inserts in the front seats, cloth also in the rear seat when so equipped.

Overhead consolette with accessory guages and some extra mouldings on the exterior.

I think I am forgetting something.........

Going to try and help out a little from my own memory. The gran coupe also had woodgrain inserts in the door panels. I believe the trim on the center grille also was chrome. The dashboard looked like a standard dash with woodgrain trim.

I can't believe how many of these gran coupes were cloned or parted out. I bet the numbers on Gran coupes have to be pretty low right now. BTW does anybody know the actually Gran coupe count on hardtops and convertibles?

What kind of extra info was shown on the consolette?

Door ajar warning light and buzzer, low fuel lamp and seat belt lamp. It also included the formed headliner.

The option code was C26 for the overhead consolette, it was also available in Cudas as part of the PR __ ( leather) interior.

Thanks for the info on these.  They aren't worth any more if not original, right?   I know of one that has a 440 in it now.

I have a 70 and a 71 gran coupe. On the 70 gc's the grille is black just like the AAR's. I converted my 71 into a cuda clone. It was probably worth more as a gc. I'll probably restore the 70 back to a gc since they're starting to go up in value now.
Here's a pic of how the 71 gc looks now.

You mean worth anymore if they are original?Of course they would be,numbers are the thing just like any other classic car.To me,even if its an original slant six car its worth more than a swapped in 440,anyone can change to a 440 you can never change back to the original stuff if it is gone

I stand corrected. My 70 gc, which I've given to my son to rebuild, actually has an argent grille.
