is the bellhousing on my AAR supposed to be painted orange too? Or left a natural finish.... I'm in the middle of my resto, and I just dont know the answer!! I'm not betting on anything the previous owners have done to be correct until I hear it from you guys....

mine had orange on it also, but it looked like chevy orange... we blasted it, and it looks nice all aluminum right now... :dunno:

did that 340 in the pics with the trans seem like it was never pulled out of the car?.... is that from your TA? I see it had a 4bbl manifold, so I'm not sure...

thanks for your input guys!

The pictures are of a '71, never touched until it was removed.  AAR's were assembled and painted the same.

Hey Rudy...
Is that really a blue interior I see in your avatar?  If so, then yours is the only one besides mine, that I've seen like that.
Mine is also blue on blue and a 4 speed.
Great to know that another one still exists!

yeah its bright blue interior!! I love that about the car, all you realy see is black usualy.... I dont suppose you have any pics of your interior handy do ya? I walked around the Nats two years ago, and all I wanted to see was 1970 blue Cuda interior, and found nothing!! I wanted some reference shots... what type of paint did you use for the dash corners, and trim etc.? I picked up a beautiful restored B5 4 speed console, but still need to work on the rest of the interior....I have all new blue door panels, dash pad, carpet etc already..... also was your car recently in a magazine?? there was a blue on blue AAR, I still have the issiue somewhere...it was this year I think....!!

I agree with FY1 on the paint.  :iagree:

As far as EB5 H6B5 AARs go, I know of 29 so far, that includes Rudy's I believe. It is quite true that they are seldom seen, the black interior cars are much more common overall.

Hi Rudy..
I can take some pics of anything in the interior that you'd like to see.  My car was restored in 1991, so the only way to get decent door, A pillar and seat back panels was to find good black ones and dye them.  The guys that did the resto on this car used a special paint for plastic and vinyl and had it color matched to some of the original B5 interior parts..
I might still have the can....I'll take a look.
I didn't like the looks of the repro headliners back then, so I found some NOS headliner material and had one made.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find the correct B5 color, but I did find some B7.  No one but me has ever noticed it, and it will do until a decent alternative comes along.
Luckily, my car has no console to deal with.
Did you use the new repro door panels?  How do they look?  Were your seat backs ok?
It wasn't my car in the magazine, as far as I know.  I don't take this one to very many shows.  I've had it at the Nats twice...both times when it was at Indy.  It was in the special display building T at Carlisle in 1995, and of course, this year in the field with the others at the AAR/TA reunion.

some interior shots would be great! (especialy the dash)  At first when my door panels arrived from Legendary, they were a dark blue, painted the wrong color. They took them back, and now I have bright blue ones that look beautiful! My seatbacks are scratched up, I still need new ones.  I will find the magazine with the blue on blue AAR, and will post the pics. Thats something about Barry mentioning he knows of only 29 blue on blue cars out there...thats cool!
I wish I had joined this site a year ago, everybody is so helpful, its great. It seems like B5 interior is a difficult subject, It's so hard to find original blue parts that are'nt faded...

OK, Rudy....I'll try to get some interior shots for you probably Sunday.  If you think of any other details you'd like shot before then, let me know here.
I think it's something about certain colors of dye they used to make the original plastic door panels that weakened it or something.  Blue seems to be the worst, and black is the best.  Mine had basically turned to plastic dust where the sun hit the top half, and the rest of it, had partially turned greenish.  Hideous.....

great, besides the interior, maybe a few under the hood? Most of my original blue interiopr was spary painted some weird silverish blue...and you could see that old greenish blue under it like you said...
Thanks again!!

Hi Rudy....
OK, here are some pics of the interior and engine area.  Not sure if you can pick out much detail from these, but if you see any area you'd like a close up of, let me know.
