As I stated in an earlier post, all the entries are great, only the backgrounds, setting or lighting was lacking on some pics. Now I don't profess to be an expert (but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn), but I have taken a few photography courses and have had 5 pictures published in different mags.
SO, here's the point of this thread. Get ready for next year and take pictures like a pro! Here are a few tips.
1). When you're out cruising, always be on the look out for interesting, cool or unusal places to photograph your pride n' joy. 2.) Shoot your car in either early morning or late day sun OR on slightly overcast days. (wouldn't want to take our babies out in a storm!). 3). Location, location, location! Find a neutral setting or one that enhances the color or angles of your car. Most of the time, cars do not look good on grass.(They don't drive too well on it either!). Keep the ground and backdrop uncluttered. Parking lot lines and inside of garages aren't good. 3).Photograph your ride trying different angles, whether it be height or viewpoint. (Straight side shots or head-on shots don't really do much for your car). 4). Go home and look at your pics on a monitor. It helps to see the big picture!

If anyone wants to post pics for discussion, I'm more than happy to help. Again, I don't mean to come off as a pompous azz, just trying to help everyone enjoy our C-C's!

That's great advice KK.  I for one will be learning more about getting quality images of my '69.  :picture:  I never thought much about it, but pics are a great way to enjoy your car when you can't drive it.  Winter, storming, whatever. You can always pull out the photos and give a look. Thanks........... :cooldancing: Oldschool

Kuda kid, I liked your pic alot.  The first set of pics I submitted were to small so I had to take some quick shots begfore I went out of town for the holidays.  however all the  cars submitted were excellent examples of what we represent here.  The next calendar will have the guidance and time for good quality bpics and grace our calendar next time.

Exactly. Anything in the background will draw attention away from your ride, there should be 3 or 4 bases at most

1 - Your Ride
2 - The ground (no grass, totally agree, makes the car looks 3 times as heavy)
3 - The sky/light/shade
4 - beach, hills, leaves, snow, desert

Here is an excellent article from the MoPar muscle car magazine site. http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/howto/11678/index2.html
Go take some snaps and post them for us to drool over!! (minus the bins and power lines)  :lol2:

Good question Oldschool..... :dunno:

That's my problem, trying to find a long ar$e road that is hardly used. I've found a couple....but I know of some b=that do get trucks and cars etc The last thing I want is a semi fully loaded hitting my car as I pull take the photo.   Not funny.  :crying: I've talked to some mates and I'll just drop them off  1/2 a km or more up the road each way and we'll be in contact via VHF radio...

Hey KudaKidd... I know that you saw these pictures before on the Moparts thread on this subject, but here goes...

Yeah, I know I should lose the flag poles in the close-up pics... and the car on the highway in the quarter panel shot.

Anyway, just to jump-start the discussion  :feedback:

Hey XS, that Cuda isn't the one from My classic car series is it? Column shift?   :swaying:

Photos look good the first one being the best.
The rear panel shot is also good excpet for the truck in the background and the mix of grass and road.

Here is a picture I took of my Corvette. The lighting I think turned out nice. Not 100% satisfied with the picture but it turned out better than most of my other pictures.

Dang that turned out big! The background is a little cluttered, would have been better without the telephone poles growing out of the interior. Thanks for fixing that picture for me Rev.
