Can I get 17"x 9.5" wheels on the back of a 71 Challenger?

I'm looking to put 17x8 fronts and 17x 9.5 rears Torque Thrust II's on the back of my 71 Chally convertible. I know 8" wide will fit, but do I have to relocate the springs for 9.5's with a 4.5 backspace?

That's alot of backspace, so I would say you are going to have some trouble. I have seen a spring relocator kit that will move it in an inch. That would work for you. As is stock, you have about 4" to work with there, I believe.

With the stock width rear you are going to need 6" of BS and offset hangers for 9.5".
