I'll bite.

My version of a trailer queen is pretty simple.  The car is for whatever reason, too valuable to take a chance driving it.  Either by simply adding mileage, or God forbid, getting in an accident.  :stomp:   It can be too valuable due to being a very low mileage original survivor, or a perfectly restored original.   :undercar:  Another reason to be a trailer queen is that the car has been built to such a high level of performance that it is impractical to be street driven.  In either case, in the owners mind, they would rather haul it than drive it....................Oldschool

:iagree: The value is too great to chance driving it on the highway or if it is, very limited. Correct for the most part but there are trailer queens that are not 100% correct. In some cases the insurance companies won't even let the higher priced trailer queens be ran, only to get them from the enclosed trailer into the showroom. Not for me but it would be fun to have one of those and a killer driver as well. Just my opinion for the most part but the insurance restriction is a fact for those prestine muscle cars that have high value.

:iagree: with both. Also 95% of trailor queens are #'s matching. Hence the reason people build clones to run em.
I will always drive mine that's the way Lucy was built for.

Trailer queens are the ones the owners put mirrors under to show how perfect the undercarraige is.They can`t drive them b/c one little rock chip or speck of dirt will ruin thier chances for a trophy. It`s fine to trailer an expensive resto or impratical beast a long distance to a show but it kills me to see a car trailered 10 miles to a local show to dust if off and lay down mirrors. The only ones seeing my undercarriage are the poor little squirrels I run over while laying rubber!  :burnout:  :woohoo:

Remember the commercial about the 2 squirrels causing a car to wreck and then giving each other a high 5?  No chance of that when you are on the road :ylsuper:  Me either!  :cooldancing: ......................Oldschool

I must laugh at myself right now. I read the question, and didn't read the other replies. I just sat and thought about "What is a trailor queen?"
So I thought maybe the most pretty girl at the trailor park's annual "Trailor Queen Fair".

But then I realized what you really meant after reading the other posts, and  :iagree:.

That's funny. It's amazing where your mind may go, before you know the context of a question!

A show car, that is trailored everywhere, and only driven on and off the trailor.

A drag car does not qualify, because it is probably trailored due to it not being very street friendly.

I'm not a big fan of trailor queens, but unerstand the need or desire of trailoring. I had a 32 Ford Vicky with a blown 392 Hemi. I trailored the car to most shows, but drove it locally to the tune of about 4000 miles a year. I put about 800 miles on it a couple of days before I sold it.

I pretty much see a trailer queen as never really driven on the street. It is just loaded and unloaded out of the trailer at car shows and needs very little cleaning as it has not been drove. The car maybe just someones pride and joy but most of the time it is worth way to much money to drive and take a chance of getting into a accident. I really don't want to own one as I really enjoy driving my Challenger and soon my restored Cuda. Just my 2cents.

I fully understand trailering a car say to Carlisle from a long distance, but can "safety" really be considered? Do you realize how vulnerable they really are? And towing a car actually leaves you very limited options for any evasive action with the tow vechicle. You get that trailer in any amount of fish tale action and beleive me you better have some experience with pulling a trailer! Trailering will mayby keep your car cleaner, and certainly keep the miliage down, but safer? I don't see that as being true. Perhaps CamJam could explain better than I.
