Ok, this might be sacrilage, but can you take the 17" Bullit Style Mustang rims and pop them on a Challenger?� Will the back spacing work?� �Is there too much?� Is the max for a Challenger without mods = to 4"?� Would the tires be hitting the leaf springs/won't fit?� They look sort of like the old Torque Thrusts but in 17" form.� Also I've seen sets of 4 for $350 used in good shape.

Here are the #s:
5-Lug 4.5" bolt circle. 6.295" backspacing. 17" x 8" wide.

I am not 100% sure, but I think the backspacing on that wheel will be too deep.
Your best bet would be to get a set of new ones in the size you are looking for from American Racing. Some of thier designs are available with custom offsets also.
For 17's and larger you will need to look at the Torq-Thrust II

That's waaay too much backspacing without moving the springs further in. I haven't tried doing that, but if all it takes is offset brackets on the back... then go for it if that's what you want.

They require spacers to fit properly, I think the spacers were 1 1/4 for the rears and 1 and 1/8 for the front....not sure though. I know that there is a member or two that have them on their cars.

The situation has changed as I may have run into a set of Keystone Klassics that were on a '68 GTX. I think I might go with this set up: Fronts are 15x6, 215/70R-15 and the rears are 15x8, 275/60R-15. I might be able to get the whole deal for $250. This might be a nice way to go, sort of period correct. Plus the price is decent and supposedly they look like they're in nice shape. I'll check them out tomorrow. I think the max on the back spacing is 4 to 4.5 inches. I figure if they were on a GTX it "should " work, I think. Thanks guys! I'll fill you in tommorow.
