    Radiator Rebuild?

    Does anyone have an idea what it would cost to rebuild a 26" radiator at a radiator shop?

    I seem to remember spending somewhere around $400 for the radiator in my Superbird.  This involved stripping the entire thing, removing the original tanks, which were fine, and replacing the core, and reinstalling the tanks, taking care to put everything back exactly as it was.

    I just bought a new 26" radiator.  It was less to buy the new one than it was to recore the original.

    I called two local radiator shops about a year ago for a new 26" 3 core radiator.  Both shops quoted me $260 for a modine.  So you might want to contact a couple of local shops in your area.

    Video, Try radiatorexpress.com , They were able to come through with a new 26" MODINE radiator  and a new A/C condenser which fits perfectly and was made just like the factory unit. Good luck

    Visited the local Radiator Place today and have a 26" 4-row "Heatbuster" radiator on the way for 179.95 + tax.  Thanks for the help!

    Hey Mopar73340, what model number Modine Radiator did you get?  The one I got was a 436006, which was the same as what was in the car, but still not the correct one.  I had to drill out some of the holes (like the one that was in there) to get it to fit, and then I got my 26" fan shroud (2998326) in from the local Dodge dealer which doesn't fit at all on this radiator.  I checked the TransPro website (which is what use to be Modine I think and is actually now Proliance) and they say there isn't a replacement 26" for a 70 or 71 Challenger with a 440.  They do list a 22" for a 72 Challenger but since mine now has a 440 I figured I better stick with the 26".  Lately it seems I take one step forward and then two steps back on this project.
