Well, the price is definitely too high for a car needing to be restored, but I bet he expects to get that from it because it's a numbers-matching 383 car.  It looks like a great project, but not a $20,000.00 car the way it sits.  I'd say something more around $12,000-$14,000 would be a more reasonable price tag for that car.  It's hard to say what these cars are worth anymore because I've been continuously seeing '72-'74 'Cudas and Challengers peaking past the $20,000.00 mark and I never would have thought that'd be occurring this early.

Heck, I've seen some restored 72-73 Challengers for sale for $25K and these are 340 cars.

Looks to me that it was raced hard and put away wet though...

With only 23000 miles, she had to be a racecar!  Although I have never seen it campaigned around here.

I called but no one was home.  :dunno:

Its hard to believe that 1972 - 1974 cars are bring the prices they are.  :hyper:

Where will it end?  Can prices continue to climb?  How will the market survive with out the enthusiasts?

I know some of these cars are rare………but even the non-number matching / basket case / six cylinder cars are going up and up and up.

However, I still want one.  I guess I will keep saving my pennys.....I mean Twenties.  :smokin:

360, those were two of the cars I was referring to.  It's crazy to see such high prices on these cars that only a couple of years ago people weren't even thinking about the '72-'74 models nearly as much as the '70-'71s.  All I can say is I'm lucky to have secured my one E-body for now, but I just hope I can still afford to find another reasonable project car a couple years from now to work on.  67vert, let us know how things go with that car.  If you can talk him down a couple thousand it'd be a good deal because I still think $20,000 is too much for a car needing to be restored, but I've also never thought the later year E-bodies could peak past $25,000.00.   ::)

20,000?  If it was at Carlisle like it is, it would've more like 30K. But everything there was overpriced. Alot of people are basing their high prices on what they saw something go for at a Car show.

By stating it's a Barracuda, I assume it's a BH and not a BS car. If that's the case, I'd offer 15k.

True but my experience is you could ask 1.5 million for that car and everybody would say"did you see what the barracuda was going for"?When in acuality no one would pay that, the price tag doesnt mean its worth the price or anyone would ever pay that.

$11,000-$13,000 is all it's worth IMO. Yeah it's a BB 4-Speed car but it needs a full resto.
I always laugh when I see people add in that it's "Galen Govier documented"....who gives a crap!  :lol2:

Nice car, but for $20,000, in that condition??
That car would bring roughly $50-$60,000,000+ when restored that's a big % to pay for the work needed.

Great catch on the barracuda emblem, i didn't notice until you said something.

If Galen documented it it must be a grand coupe?  383 4sp????

It's 3pm here in balmy CA and still no call back.
