Christmas present
« on: December 20, 2005 - 09:40:13 AM »
I asked my wife what she wanted for Christmas and she said to go some place warm away from the snow and winter, so she is booking plans to go to Mopars on the strip!  ( I know it is in March, but cool!)  Anyone ever been there?  I heard it is unbelievable. :cooldancing:

It's getting better every year. Not as many show cars as I would like to see(lots of racers) but it has grown every year. The track is a nice facility and Vegas is a great place to visit, lots to see and do.

I flew down the last 2 years and loved it. Last year was in the low 80's but the year before it was near 90 degrees everyday. The nights cool off alot as the humidity is next to nothing so you need a jacket at night if our outside. The track is very nice and they have some very nice cars out west. The Canery held a free concert for people who had been to the car show last year with Kenny Wwayne Shepard.  It was crowded and a good time. I stayed at MGM Grand last year and Treasure Island the year before and both are on the strip and very nice hotels. I have only been going to the show 1 day as their is so much to see while your their. I rented a car last year as taxi rides are not cheap and the transit system takes a while to figure out. I'm trying to book my reservations but have not found anything priced in the range I would like to pay for a package deal. If you have anymore questions or need some information just ask.

I also went last year as I had always wanted to go.  71340RT is correct as there is not a lot of show cars, well nothing like the NATS or Carlisle!  But still a good show and WARM!!  I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel and had a great time as there is a concert hall in the hotel and they had a concert on Saturday and all the girls were there!!  Love it!!  Definitely need a car while there as the track is out of town a ways.  Then the airforce base it there too so you get an air show at the same time as the car show!!  Very cool!!

They have a big write up about Vegas in this months Mopar Collecters Guide mag.  It has the schedule of events and everything.  Al Jardine from the Beach Boys is doing the free concert this year.  Sounds great, but the too far for me to travel right now.
