Another parts score cheap

I got a 1970 standard bore 340 shortblock(10.5 motor) for 100 bucks and a 8.75 rearend(not sure what its out of but is a 489 3.23 suregrip small yoke for 100 bucks also.What the heck am i going to do with it,along with the 440hp/727 i bought a month ago?who knows but the price is right and they will go in my shop for future projects or I'll just triple my money on them but will probably just store them :money: :cooldancing:

Thats sweet!!  If I had the chance and somewhere to put the stuff, I'd be buying it all up too!!   I did just pick up a 1971 440 block for $275.   :bigsmile:

Moparnut, I'm still on my quest to find the 340 motor from my 70 Cuda.  Can you check the VIN on the block and let me know what it is.  Thanks.

Well, they're always good for boat anchors or door stops!
You must be confusing a chevy motor with a mopar!CHevy makes a great door stop,however a mopar engine should be admired on a nice engine stand and a blanket to keep her warm,lol :undercar:

I'll check the other 340 i have on a engine stand waiting to go into my chally,I'm bagging the numbers motor and putting this one in when she gets restored whenever that is,lol.

Just got the 100 dollar 340 back from the machine shop to get tanked and maged,it was good standard bore but i found another number on the block besides the VIN,anyone know what it is?,just curious

I do not have the book to decode it , but 340 is the bore & the P is HP needing premium fuel

3267 seems to be July 9 1970 , this aligns perfectly with the serial # in the 400,000 range in the 70 model year
