People with too much money on their hands, got out of the stock scene, and started buying up muscle cars as an investment. Go buy a 5.0 mustang for everyday driving. You are almost certainly going to contribute to the attrition of these cars. Why do you think that you don't see many old cars driving around on the streets today when 100's of thousands of them were built? It's called attrition. Accidents, fires, rust , poor maintenance, they all are reasons for the slow and certain elimination of old cars. I love these mopars enough to want to take care of them. I get one out and drive it once in a while when traffic is light or on the weekends to attend car shows and cruise nights. By showing them, I share them with everyone. Some day, others will own my cars and maybe they will take care of them the way that I do. Kept inside, maintained, cleaned and shown regularly so that others can enjoy seeing them. Just remember, we don't really own them we're just temporary caretakers. So, what I'm saying is go buy one and take care of it.

They're all sitting in a nice dry storage building. Most of them are driven at least once a month.

I don't feel 72-74 e bodies will ever be worth the same as 70-71's because of the " MUSCLE CAR ERA" BUT they are certainly coming into their own. Someone wants a e body and can't afford a 70-71 what's the next best thing

72-74's of course. Well all of a sudden there is a demand for 72-74 so what happen's?

The supply goes down and the the price goes up !! I don't feel a 73 is worth $ 35,000.00 yet BUT I do believe that the time will come when they are worth that much and it's not that far away...
I remember not to long ago when A bodies were at the bottom of the pile and you could buy a pristeen 70 340 Duster for $ 5000.00 Now it $25,000.00 and it wasn't that long ago maybe 8 years.
I am off next week and maybe I will just go check these car out and let you know.

Nice to hear,With that many you would need a month to drive them once,lol.I am always shopping for another deal,when i find one it will come home with me.I have been looking for a 68-71 dart and have my eye on a buddy's project 69 Bee 383 4 speed but he is very proud of it even though it needs total resto.He wants 10-12k for it,too much for my blood even though i can afford it I wont spend that much on a project.I prefer to find the "deals"although there are very few now compared to 10 years ago,but i am patient and usually when I'm not looking one pops up from word of mouth

I would sure hate to have to buy my cars at today's prices. I was fortunate to buy them when no one else paid any attention to them. I was always a chevy guy. I owned several camaros first and second gen and three chevelles including my SS from high school. My dragster was chevy powered as well. When I started buying mopars, my friends gave me hell. Now they keep trying to talk me into selling them one of the cars for what I paid for it. Fat chance. I just tell them that they should have paid attention when I started buying them. I only paid $5000 for my low mileage 1969 Runner. It just turned over 40,000 miles this summer. My 68,000 mile bee and 80,000 mile 69 charger R/T were both bought for around $5000 each as well. My 70 chal convert was $2800 and my 71 cuda clone was $1500. Now the only problem is maintaining them. The bee has a left rear brake grabbing and the headlamp switch on the runner is screwed up. It's never ending, but worth it

2 cent chime in. I think i read it before, but here it is again. With the car becoming less avaiable, the price goes up. Really on the only big thing that seperates the early from later years is the emmisions on the car and big block options.
Now, for the guy that just simply wants one, any one will do unless he wants something exact, like in example a 71 w/440 & 4spd.
Unless a person wants a restored unit, again, anyone will do. With so few left, it's getting to the point that a '74 junk car will sell for thousands. Dispite the fact that you would have never paid $50 for it back in the day.

Back when I was looking, I really wasn't concerned with what year my car was, or if it was all original or not. I just wanted an E-Body. To be honest, I fell for the purdy paint job on mine.�

I agree also.Its not like buying a camaro or mustang either,those cars totally chanced the look from 66-67 to 74,they werent the same cars,the Cuda and Challengers are except for the under the hood stuff and small cosmetic changes.And the 72-74 had a much better dirve drain with disc brakes electronic Dist ect.,nothing worse than haveing a High horse power BB or SB and cant stop it as i stated once before.Although I would rather have 70-71 I'll take the deals i come across no matter the year because they are so hard to find

Those Barracudas were 4000(ballpark) brand new, who would pay that much. Is that Impala have a motor, or is it even there? I need that motor for my moms 1964 Impala that thing is like a boat.

Yes 4000 bucks but most people dont think how much that is today.I would give My left @#$ to go back to 1970 and buy a couple dozen hemi-cuda verts and sell them now for 1 Mil,get my drift?
Here's a money calculator from then and now 4k in 1970 is like 20k now,heck i would buy a dozen now for 20k if i could

I guess you could have stored them in your grandfather's barn and hoped like hell that it didn't burn or fall down and hopefully no one would have stolen them and hopefully the rats wouldn't have destroyed them and etc...etc...etc... I think I see a flaw in your plan.
With that same knowledge about the stock market, you could have made 100 times that much money with the same investment without worrying about storage issues. The money would be there waiting for you. Then you could just go out and buy you a hemi convert.

70-71 will always be worth more than 72-74's even though they made more of them. No matter if you prefer the later cars or not, you would be in the minority. Prices are coming up because affordable 70-71's are not able to be found anymore. A rise in value of the early cars will bring the value of the later cars up with them. This is very simple supply and demand.
