« on: December 22, 2005 - 05:10:33 AM »
I got the paint codes and mixtures for light argent and medium argent...can anyone tell me what is the correct color to paint my rear taillight piece and my grill and headlight bezels for a 71' R/T?

If 71 is the same as 70, then they all would be the same shade... medium argent. It's not as dark as the 71 Rally wheel center caps.

Sorry I didn't see this post earlier.  I have pictures that I used from the original sales brochure and other advertising plus the way my car was when I bought it to make my decisions for finishing. So far no has questioned the way I have finished the car and it matches the sales brochure picture..

Here are some pics of my 71R/T.

The headlight bezels were black not argent silver. The argent silver was for non R/T cars. The center part of the grille is the argent colour but no textured finish.

The tailpanel was balckened from the tail light trim to the lip of the trunk and the trunk trim is painted black to the line in the alumium trim. The trim around the lights was the argent colour but no texture. The argent was again for non R/T cars.

70 RT grills are black too so don't let MEKrunner throw you off on that either.

My '71 grill looks like CamJams too.

I've also seen the bottom half of the rear bumper painted body color and the top half painted same black as the taillight panel, is this factory correct?

440 - I've seen elastomeric bumpers painted the body color but not two tone as you have said.

Hey camjam, how about putting in words where the colors break on the backend for us?  The grill pictures are closeup enough to see that but need better backend pictures.

Thanks

The blackout just goes to the edge of the trunk. The pictures I have included are from the video game shoot. The guy took over 200 hundred pictures with some really great detail pics. Let me if this is not clear enough.

OK, thanks.  So I guess your car is going to be in a video game then?
