6 pack air cleaners.
« on: December 24, 2005 - 07:00:19 PM »
Anyone have any idea if I can buy a 6 pack style breather for a 4 bbl 340? I don't want to spend all the money on the 6 pack this year but would like the look of the breather and for it to be functional with the AAR hood.

Thanks

jeez, looks like 650US for the base alone. I think I'll just wait and get the entire 6-pack set up.

There is a guy that sells fiberglass ones on Ebay, but I do not see any current auctions for them right now? He may be busy this time of year?

I will keep an eye out.....

You can probably find one that needs a rechroming and a new glass for $250.00. I have also seen NOS ones on ebay go for over $1,000.00

I paid the piper and considered it a bargain, bad thing about 70 mirrors being a one year only deal.

Hey thanks Mr. T/A, I sent him an email for details and prices. I am working on a 6-pack assembly for my car now as well. So I'll see how that goes and if nothing materializes I'll go with the air cleaner for this year.

Hey Alaska TA, I just got an email back, he has exactly what I need for a reasonable price, so I'll be going ahead with it.

Thanks Again.

Here are the pictures Steve sent me. He supplies the top lid, base plate, cement and seal. All you need to do is buy the air filter and make up a strap to attach the carb to the base plate. Gives a nice 6-pack look for a fraction of the price of a six pack set up. Works for me, for now anyway.   :jumping:

Looks like a nice set up. I would even consider something like that for my next project. Keep us posted on this so we can check it out.
