Danish Cuda
« on: December 26, 2005 - 10:39:33 AM »
Hi Everyone.. Found this site a while ago and have spend some good time reading posts.. Recently i decided to register so i guess it's about time to say hello..

I'm from denmark and i have a 70's cuda currently under restoration that i got home from "over there ::) "  around May.. Originally it was a slant six so i have a lot of other plans with it.. I knew it was a car in need of some serious work, but i've always wanted a 70's Hemi cuda, so this was my chance... When i got it home i found out it was alot worse than the seller had described, but it's going to be redone totally anyway so i've been working on it every minute i could.. Currently it's getting the bodywork done the right way with mediablasting and propper welding with new sheet metal side by side.. After that it will get a layer of zink and then be powdercoated, so i guess i can move on from there around the end of march... Here are some pictures if it:

If there should be any danish guys inhere they can see my homepage at www.426.dk where i regularly post updates on the rebuilt process (non danish guys can go there as well but the site is not in english) ;-)

Looking forward to spending some good time here on the forum, and a big thanks to the one's making it available..

Rasmus Porsager

Welcome to the site, Janosch!  It sucks the seller did not describe it well to you on its current condition, but at least you're still going to take on the project and do it up the proper way.  It doesn't look like too bad of a project from the pics, so best of luck with the restoration!  I'll be sure to occassionally check out your website  as soon as I'm back on my campus's fast LAN connection and not this dial-up sluggish thing I'm on right now. ::)

Welcome to cc.com janosch. Glad to see I'm not the only one to try and restore a big project. It is sad that alot of times you will find out that you need to do alot of extra work once you tear into a restoration. Keep us posted with pictures and feel free to ask questions during the restoration.

Thanks alot for the positive view on the project, i'm really looking forward to having the body done so i can enjoy the assembly / adjusting / configuration part - seeing it all come together... And yes, i'll post a lot of pictures, as well some of the engine bay, but first when i think it's a respectable view :-) And yir, i guess i have plenty of questions and i can't think of a better place to ask them than here.. Actually i'm stuck right now on the decision of which headers and injection to put on the 528, i actually hoped edelbrock would offer an injection system for the hemi when they showed off their new products, but no goodies from them i guess.. But that must be a question to put in the engine section of the forum..

I just got a lot of new parts home from the states, and i'm going to pick them up here in the start of the new year, so i'm really exited to see the shaker hood and all the other parts..

Happy New Year Everyone...

Welcome janosch

That does seem to need some work but overall it's pretty cool. I am curious though, what kind of extra work does the car need? And what part of the car is that welding done?

Thanks!

Great car, The decision on headers is a tough one. I prefer TTI or tube technologies inc. The choice for fuel injection on a big hemi is a no brainer in my opinion. I recommend  Mass-Flo. They can do either single or dual 1000 cfm throttle bodies. The baeuty of thier system is you don't have to be a computer programmer to set up the system. Tell them what you got and they will send you the stuff, you bolt it on, it learns on its own and you are set. Good luck
